The following PTA sponsored programs are offered to enhance the school experience.
Project Cornerstone
Many of you are familiar with our Project Cornerstone program, which supports the social/emotional learning and well-being of our students. Indeed, Project Cornerstone is a critical component to the Coyote Way. The Project Cornerstone program is made up of parent volunteers who go into classrooms, usually monthly, to guide the students on lessons and discussions on being good citizens and compassionate human beings. Problem-solving strategies are emphasized, along with teaching students coping strategies when social interactions become prickly. Part of the success of this program is that the students come to view their Project Cornerstone parent as another safe and trusted adult in their life.
K-3 Vocal Music Program
This program is delivered by the Starting Arts and augmenting the LASD 4-6 music program, the Starting Arts' award-winning school program builds a musical foundation that will last a lifetime. Designed to coordinate with classroom instruction, teachers guide and encourage learning and creative expression through sequential lessons that build musical skills and appreciation.
Noontime Activities
